Worry about AI taking jobs rose for almost every job this year. Programmers are the exception, their worry peaked in March 2024

I tracked "will AI replace [job]" searches in Google Trends for 56 jobs. Programmers were the first to worry, with a spike right after ChatGPT and another in March 2024 when Devin was announced. Since then it's come down (-12% on last year), while teachers, doctors and lawyers all hit new highs in 2026. My guess is that programmers have used these tools every day for two years and have a clearer idea of what they can and can't do. Curious what you think.
