Things that might seem random but would make me truly believe we have entered the AGI-ASI Spectrum
Solve hair loss. It's often said as a joke, but it's perfectly fair to expect this. Solve new tooth generation, or at least reverse tooth decay. Solve plastic. Make it genuinely biodegradable or find a way to eliminate its environmental impact. Solve trees. Enable rapid afforestation or dramatically speed up tree growth. Solve menstruation. Solve diplomacy. Become a genuinely rightful BDFL for humanity, capable of helping us resolve conflicts we seemingly cannot. Find new forms of food that can move us beyond an agricultural age that requires enormous amounts of land. I just noticed something while writing these down: none of these are software problems. But that's the promise, right? That was the promise of technology all along - to help us with our real, physical problems. Not to become a thing of its own, endlessly making more software to optimize other software. Solve something real. Bring a positive change to the world. There's a climate crisis waiting for you to set your eyes upon. Send all your agents after that problem. What has all this intelligence actually solved for humanity and our Mother Earth so far?
