DeepMind employees say lifetime restrictions on criticizing Google stop them speaking publicly about AI safety and impact

Quite a lot of drama at DeepMind London this year. Earlier this year I remember reading about staff trying to unionise, opposition to Google’s military contracts, researchers publicly leaving over safety concerns (nothing new, many do that in other companies as well). Now according to WP article (linked below) employees have contracts banning them from criticizing Google for life, even after leaving. tbh I find it pretty ironic given how vocal Demis Hassabis has been about AI safety for years. I guess it's only senior executives that are allowed to talk about it.
